Travel planning today is fragmented and mentally exhausting. Users are often overwhelmed by too many choices, unclear recommendations, and disconnected tools.
Naviara is an AI-guided travel planning concept designed to reduce decision overload and help users move forward with clarity and confidence. The project explores how AI-assisted interfaces can simplify exploration, planning, and early booking decisions through thoughtful UI structure and guidance.

Yet for many people, booking a trip means jumping between multiple apps, comparing endless options, decoding airline rules, and making decisions they don’t fully understand—often under time pressure.

Despite the number of travel platforms available, booking still feels like work.
Most tools are designed for searching and filtering, not for how people actually think about travel, which usually starts with a simple intent:

If users feel uncertain, the system has failed. My goal with Naviara is to ensure users instantly understand what to do, feel guided rather than controlled, and confidently move forward.
To achieve this, I focused on minimizing three costs: cognitive (mental effort), psychological (fear of error), and labor (time and steps).

When decisions feel final, users hesitate. Naviara reduces friction by allowing easy edits, reversible actions, and clear summaries, so users can explore freely without restarting or committing too early.

As a solo concept project, Naviara’s impact was evaluated through moderated usability testing and flow analysis rather than live analytics.
Key outcomes observed:
~50% reduction in planning steps for a multi-city trip after restructuring flows
5/5 test users completed core booking tasks without external guidance
Faster decision-making, driven by clearer choices and reduced cognitive load
Beyond task completion, users consistently described the experience as:
“Less overwhelming”
